What is tested in the Wellness Panel 2?
This blood panel tests the Complete Blood Count (CBC) with differential, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Hemoglobin A1c, Homocysteine, Iron & TIBC, Lipid Panel & Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH).
Why is the Wellness Panel 2 important?
Calcium is important for bone health, muscle function, and blood clotting. An abnormal TSH test may indicate thyroid disease.
The CBC and CMP tests include a variety of markers that check your immune system, red blood cells, clotting system, electrolytes, kidney and liver function. The Iron and TIBC tests are used to screen for iron deficiency.
The Glucose (in the CMP) and Hemoglobin A1c tests check for diabetes. The Lipid Panel measures your standard lipid and cholesterol markers. An abnormal Homocysteine or Lipid Panel suggests you are at an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
