What is Accesa Labs?<\/strong>
\nAccesa Labs is an e-commerce marketplace that makes it simple for any person (insured or un-insured) to order medical lab testing online, get tested at a local lab or at home, and get results electronically. Our mission is to improve access to affordable lab testing and streamline the lab testing process using great software.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Why did we start Accesa Labs?<\/strong>
\nAccesa Labs<\/a> was started by entrepreneurs and doctors who, after running a clinic operation, discovered that many people struggled to get access to affordable lab testing. Not only was it time-consuming (and sometimes expensive) to make an appointment and get a doctor’s lab order, but the lab testing process itself was also confusing and often associated with additional costs.\u00a0To help simplify the process for patients we knew, we created Accesa Labs as a simple online lab testing website so that patients could order the lab tests they needed from local doctors. Although it was originally intended to serve local patients, we started getting contacted from people all around the country asking to use our service and have since grown to serve customers in most states with the help of doctors nationwide.<\/p>\n

What is the typical lab testing process?<\/strong>
\nMost types of lab tests in most states require the supervision and a lab order (i.e. a prescription) from a licensed medical provider (e.g. doctor). Getting a lab order typically involves making an office appointment with the provider, going to the office, getting the lab order, submitting lab specimens like blood (in the office or at a local lab), and getting the results on a subsequent visit or through an electronic portal. It is often a time consuming process and, for people who have any kind of co-pay or co-insurance, there will be a variety of unknown and frequently expensive costs along the way.<\/p>\n

How does Accesa Labs change the lab ordering process?<\/strong>
\nAccesa Labs offers access to a wide range of diagnostic lab tests through our website. We offer transparent pricing and access to thousands of lab locations nationwide. Our software enables ordering through mobile devices and can electronically route orders in real-time to the relevant local lab. Once the lab testing is completed and the results are ready, our software automates the routing and delivery of secure lab results to our customers.<\/p>\n

What’s next for Accesa Labs?<\/strong>
\nSince inception, we have tested tens of thousands of people and continue to get great feedback from our customers on how to improve our service. In a world where high-deductible health insurance is becoming the new norm, we are grateful that we can be a lab testing alternative for people who don’t have a doctor, who are looking to save money on lab testing, or who value the convenience of managing their own testing with simple and constantly improving software.<\/p>\n
