The Lyme PCR urine test, also known as a Lyme disease urine test and a Lyme disease PCR test, checks for the presence of Borrelia spp DNA in the urine.
This Lyme PCR test uses a lab methodology known as real-time polymerase chain reaction. This Lyme disease urine test uses polymerase chain reaction to take any Borrelia spp DNA and amplify it, making it easier to detect.
To get a Lyme PCR test near you, order online and get tested at Quest Diagnostics. Once your Lyme PCR lab report is ready, you will be able to access it electronically. As can be seen on the Lyme PCR sample report above, results from this Lyme PCR urine test will be reported in a qualitative results (e.g. not detected) as opposed to numerically. This particular Lyme PCR assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes. It has not been cleared by the FDA because the FDA has, as of 2017, determined that such clearance for this Lyme PCR test is not necessary with Quest Diagnostics.
