The HHV-6 test, sometimes known as an HHV-6 blood test, HHV-6 lab test, herpes 6 antibodies test, and HHV-6 lab test, measures the HHV-6 IgG and IgM blood antibody levels.
HHV-6 is a unique herpes virus that causes an illness that typically lasts for a short period of time in healthy people. In people with weak immune systems, herpesvirus 6 can cause fevers and neurological problems. HHV-6 is not typically considered a sexually transmitted infection.
