What is a tTG Blood Test?
The tTG Blood test checks the blood level of tTG IgA & IgG antibodies (t-Transglutaminase).
Why is a tTG Blood Test important?
tTG antibodies are usually found in patients with celiac disease and are involved with destroying the intestinal villi. The IgA form of this antibody is made in the small intestine. The IgG form of this antibody is less accurate than the IgA form but can help detect celiac disease in patients with an IgA antibody deficiency.
