This blood panel checks the C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), Homocysteine and Cardio IQ Panel tests.
Why are markers in this panel important?
The hs-CRP test is used in assessing the relative cardiovascular risk. Elevated levels suggest an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Homocysteine is an amino acid that is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease when elevated. The Cardio IQ Panel includes the standard Lipids & Cholesterol panel as well as specialized lipid subclasses.
