What is a Gliadin Test?
The Gliadin test checks the blood levels of Gliadin IgA and IgG antibodies.
Why is a Gliadin Test important?
Gliadin antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to exposure from gliadin, a protein in wheat. Most patients with celiac disease have these antibodies. These antibodies help identify inflammation related to gluten and track the response to a gluten-free diet. Gliadin IgA antibodies typically disappear within 6 months and IgG antibodies last up to 1 year after eating a gluten-free diet.
