What is the Immunoglobulin panel?
The Immunoglobulin panel measures levels of IgA, IgG and IgM antibodies.
Why is the Immunoglobulin panel important?
Elevated levels of these antibodies are seen in conditions such as generalized hypergammaglobulinemia, chronic inflammatory conditions and in multiple myeloma, lymphoma and leukemia. Decreased levels are sometimes found if the patient has immunodeficiency or generalized hypogammaglobulinemia.
