B2 Blood Test - More Information
The vitamin B2 test, also known as a riboflavin lab test, checks the vitamin B2 blood level.
Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is one of the B vitamins. Found in foods like vegetables, dairy and supplements, vitamin B2 is important for metabolism in cells. Riboflavin deficiencies are common in underdeveloped countries and can cause inflammation of the mouth (stomatitis), rashes and anemia. High riboflavin levels, or riboflavin toxicity, have not been documented to produce significant side effects.
You can get a vitamin B2 test near you at a Quest Diagnostics lab after ordering online. Once your B2 lab results are ready, they will be available for download. On a B2 lab report, the B2 blood level will typically be reported as a number and can be compared against the reference B2 range provided by the lab. Please note that this particular B2 blood test was developed and its analytical performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not been cleared or approved by FDA but the assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.
